It’s cliche to say that the only constant in life is change but the fact of the matter is that there is truth to this. Our lives are constantly in flux. It’s something we can all relate to which is why I think the above video is so powerful. We literally see a child change from a new born to a 9 year old boy in the course of 2 minutes. Just think, how would your life be different if you knew 9 years ago what you know now? Or what if you knew now what you will know in 9 years? Who wouldn’t want to have 9 years of life learned in 2 minutes? There is no doubt in my mind that the way we live now would be drastically different. Here’s the problem: having knowledge without the reinforcement of actually learning it gets us nowhere. We need the reinforcement of action. Each day we learn something. Sometimes it’s big, other times small but it’s the process of learning that really molds and shapes the people we become.
Don’t be on the fast track for change. Instead, be ever aware of the process. Let it shape and mold you. Let it make you into a person who is constantly growing in your understanding of your weaknesses and strengths in order that you might be an effective participant in the community around you.
